Product Description
Capstar starts working in just 30 minutes. A single dose should kill the adult fleas on your pet. If your pet gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day. Capstar is safe to use in pregnant or breeding animals. Capstar is fast acting. To administer Capstar tablets, place the pill directly in your pet's mouth, or hide it in food. If you choose to hide the tablet in food, watch closely to make sure your pet swallows the pill. If you are not sure that your pet swallowed the pill, it is safe to administer a second pill.

5 out of 5 stars Worth weight in gold   September 7, 2010

My cat was in a terrible state with fleas. I had tried everything and she was miserable. She had bitten herself so much that she was bleeding in a lot of locations and slept in the sink to try and relieve her pain.

Nothing seemed to work until I did the following. I used frontline on her for maintenance and then used Capstar for 3 days in a row and then bathed her. It got rid of the fleas and she slept for 3 days to recover (due to infestation, not medicine). Her whole attitude went back to being loving and affectionate and she no longer had the look of being sick in her eyes.

Highly recommend this. She doesn't go out often, but when she does as soon as she scratched a bit I give her a pill and we have had no more problems.

This is very good. One keep
fleas off of my cat and dog for
about 2 wks. Very pleased.
Just make sure they are outside
after given pill so fleas do on
reinfect your carpet.

5 out of 5 stars It does what it is supposed to do, quickly.   August 19, 2010

We gave one of these to our cat.
Within 20 minutes she started itching a little more than usual, nothing serious.
Within 30 minutes fleas were falling off her and kicking around on their backs dying.
Within 2 hours she had quit itching and took a looong happy cat-nap.

Be sure to understand what this medicine is to be used for, it will kill fleas but not eggs or larva.
It only kills the fleas that bite the animal while it is active.
It will not stop new fleas from infesting your pet after it wears off.

We did a complete flea treatment of our house at the same time we gave this medicine to our cat.

5 out of 5 stars Must swallow whole!   August 13, 2010

I read a few reviews where people were crushing this in food. My cats might be a special case, but this delivery route didn't appear to work with them. I tried, twice, and nothing happened. Once I made them swallow a pill, the fleas started jumping ship within 20 minutes.

Another thing I learned - don't pour a crushed pill in your cat's mouth. He'll foam and slobber and get really pissed off. And it also doesn't work.

TLDR: crushing up pills might not work for you. Forcing a cat to swallow a pill isn't that bad. It's a lot easier than giving them a bath, and they forgive you, immediately.

4 out of 5 stars Great Product   August 10, 2010

I have a kitten that is missing one foot. She has a terrible time with fleas. I've washed her, brushed her, and used drops. I was desperate for something to give her some relief. Capstar worked wonders. The only complaint is that I have to give her one about every 5-6 days. I definitely recommend this product.
